Lines everywhere in the store. finally got through the check out then it was hurry up wait to get them loaded in my car. Now I am finally on my way back to my house and the snow is non stop roads are getting worse every mile. I had left the house about 11:30 or so that morning and got back home around 7:30 PM. 1st day of therapy anda treasure Bag

Well it has been a long day for me. Not much sleep last night for me or hubby. I had a horrendous headache and he was uncomfortable with his knee. At about 4 AM I took two Tylenol and waited for it to subside at 8:30 still have the headache so took and extra strength Tylenol of 500mg. At about 11 or so it finally let up . We had to go to therapy at 1PM and then after we got a bit to eat.
I have been drowsy all day. I am going to work on a small sewing wallet from a magazine Fast Quilts by McCall's. It is suppose to be simple, but they never said it was for simple minded people. LOL I have it laid out and hope I have it the way I want. We shall see. Hubby is very tired and resting for now.
I did get another treasure box made. It is yellow and blue.
I am going to make another tote bag for the rotary mat and rulers and etc.
I had made one for the guild gift exchange. Like it real well.
I hope to be able to go to the LQS and buy a charm pack or two soon. I feel the need!! You all have a great evening and i will chat more tomorrow if time allows.

tata for now

Leaking !!!!

Well I have found the source of the water problem in my sewing area it is the HUMIDIFIER and not the hot water tank as he first thought!!
I was trying to cut out a few pieces of fabric and kept hearing drips and I said where is that sound coming from WELL there was a huge amount of water on the floor and running over under my sewing area. One day I could be juiced HUH? well the apparatus is coming off the furnace since he said the solenoid is bad anyway. If it doesn't work then disconnect the damn thing!
I am vexed and have to unload on something sorry!!!
Niters now I am off to bed forget all this stuff for now tomorrow is another day/

whew!!! finally home

Evening everyone, I am finally home and hubby is doing great. He yelps now and then. Our little dogie wants to climb on him, but I have decided to latch the cage for now. He was so happy to see Charlie and has been at his side since he returned home. I will be getting myself ready for the bed soon and then get up tomorrow morning and hope to sew a little bit. I hear my machines calling my name. I hope to get to sew a couple bag tomorrow. One is from a new book Pouches and purses I believe it is, anyway it is a tea cup bag with a zipper. so darn cute!! I have waited all fall to get the book. The other is like one I have sewn for my grand daughter Allyson. I had posted a picture of it before.
I will be back tomorrow after I get to sew some and hopefully have a couple a photos to sahre with you all. until then niters

Man of Mine

Here lies the man of my life. My companion for 46 years. He was still under the influence of the drugs. But today he was fine then tonight he said he felt a little nauseated and I was wondering if maybe it was from the blood thinner shots they are giving him . They gave him 2 shots today and I do not think they were even 12 hours apart. I told him to double check with DR on that. Or maybe it could be the heavy drugs they gave him. I hope he sleeps well tonight and I will be there in the morning to see how he is doing and did during the night.
Thanks

Hospital

Hi I have just gotten home from the hospital today. Been up to visit and see the Man in my life. He is doing great. Went to therapy today and they gave him a workout!! Had him to bend his leg back as far as he could they wanted a 90 degree but settled for a lot less. LOL He seems to be in very good spirits. I went to MC D's and got him a coffee and he wanted some chocolate chip cookies. He loves the coffee from MC D their regular stuff. I like it as well.
Tomorrow I go back to the hospital and spend some quality time with again.
He is such a good patient. I am still tired and we tried to watch the swearing in of Obama but they took him down to do his exercises so we missed it. Darn I am sure we will get it in recap soon enough but it won't be the same as when it actually happened.
I will soon get a warm shower and put on my pj's and relax a little bit tonight.
Thanks for all the well wishes for hubby they helped I am sure of it.

Great weekend

Hi ! I am back home from a nice weekend sewing retreat with a few friends. We had some great food , and good talks and etc. I got the rick rack sewn onto the Lattice Garden quilt. Now to sew on the leaves. I also made a block or two for my "Vintage Moments" quilt. I will love to have it finished someday! There are a lot of pieces and time into that one.
I started a sewing wallet that was in magazine Fast Quilts. I also pulled out an older small table topper and began to quilt it out.
Then since today was my birthday I came home early to spend with hubby. He is such a great hubby, he has his knee replaced tomorrow and I will be here for him, to nurse him back to his feet again. I am sure he is nervous over it.
So I will spend a good part of this week at the hospital as he will be in there for at least 3 days. Then I must make sure the hallway and etc are cleared for him to get around with a walker. I bought a book today for sewing pouches and purses and I plan to make a few of them from this . Some are really cute.
I spent the weekend away with some sewing friends. We had a great time and enjoyed one another and looking at each others work. Some really good chow and desserts!! Until next time

cold and snowy weekend!

Well what a weekend we have had here in Ohio. It has been a couple days since I last posted anything. Sorry . I am do9ing fine for now so says my DR . woohoo! that makes me happy. I have been sewing some over this wintery weekend. I have my Lattice Garden quilt blocks are all made. I have to assemble them now and then there is some rick rack that goes on it and then some leaves too. I also made a tea towel for march but not sure how to do the face on the old man with lots of wind to blow around. here is a picture of it so far.

I have a picture of my quilt top I have been sewing on too. here it is it still needs to be sewn together into the rows and borders added but it is so happy looking I really like it.The fabric are Bees Knees by Glenna Hailey at http://www.hollyhockquilts.com/ I think she has a kit or two for sale yet.

I have a sheet I am going to try to obey for the new year it is called the recipe for 2009
A Great Recipe for a peace-filled life in 2009
1. Take a 10 to 30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. Itis the ultimate anti-depressant.2.
Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.
3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,'My purpose is to __________ today. I am thankful for______________'
4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issuesof the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument.Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. GOD heals everything - but you have to ask Him.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will stay in touch.
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements:I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.
24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it.

I do not know who wrote these but a friend sent to me they are great!
Have a great evening everyone

WHEW!!

WHEW!!! the holidays are over for now, and it is hard to get back into the swing of things. Tomorrow is the day to take all the decorations down and pack them up and maybe donate some. I did manage to get away from home yesterday and go to a friends and spend the night . We sewed until 2 AM. I got to make a small bag
called Abby's Treasure Box
and then worked on a yet another tea towel. This towel has three snowman heads on it I like it

I also got most all the stitching done on the triple hanging for Winter. Started on a dish towel purse but I think we got the wrong size of handles for it. They are sweet. It was in one of the August issues of a quilting magazine. I think it was American Patchwork and Quilitng. Well my light in the sewing machine burned out . I had received a Bright Light for a gift and it sure was a nice thing to have. I like it!! I stopped on the way home and bought a new bulb plus some bobbins and bulb changer thingy!
When I get the time I will come back and say a little more Happy New year to you all from me
