My Quilts

I entered a few things into my local guild show. That was held this weekend. We have a show every 2 years. This was our first show in the new location and the feed back was great.I think they said we had over 300 items in the show  and on display I put in  3 different type bags, and a small quilt , plus 3 medium size quilts.  I did get awarded some ribbons. Here are a few pictures of the items I had entered.  I will try to put the name of the pattern I used and who made the pattern.
first up my Strawberry Social, by The Pattern Basket co. so sorry for the wrong info. I hope she forgives me
This was a 3rd place ribbon

then I made the next one for my great grandson Blaze
called Western Pinwheels. it is from a Fon's and Porter magazine "Love of Quilting"  several years ago. Theirs had the sail boats around the edges I chose to use the horseshoes

then I made  the big retreat tote from a Auntie's Two pattern
Get Away Bag  2nd place on the big bag

Next was my "Tall Tree"  a pattern from  Cindy Edgerton
and my  final one was my  set of 4 Projects bags. these I absolutely love to use!
The bags are a pattern  I picked up in Berlin Ohio  from the Country Craft Cupboard.the pattern
By Annie.com.
the Purse style bag with the patchwork was mine as well. It is  made with Fig Tree fabrics and called the Jumbo Drawstring bag

Holey Moley time gets away

Hello All
I seem to not post much lately. I am so sorry to you all. Today was a bit of cleaning up around here. had a little sunshine and it brings out the  got to clean this  look at the dust! I have been out shopping a couple days in the stores. found some reds for a quilt I want to make. Also have been looking at a couple rulers (Fit To Be Square)by Monique Dillard. she has other rulers too.  to make the square in a square  easier to do. The square is on point in the center. I finished a doll quilt and got the binding on another one I have made called small bakers dozen quilt..
I belong to a group on yahoo named abcquilters and we are going to do a swap soon on some blocks with each other. we each  will make 2 blocks for each person  participating in the swap. I also do a doll quilt swap once a month. Regular quilt guild coming up soon and then I have class for a sweatshirt jacket on Saturday with the guild busy, busy. The quilt that I want to tackle next is one called Strawberry Social by Margo . I love the colors and her quilt.  I was in NC last week visiting my 2 sisters and sewing every day with one or the other or both. We made large tote bags  Aunties Two( Get Away Bag) love the bag!  just for the supplies it was around $100.00 including the pattern.
Well it is time to jump off and get busy doing something besides here at the computer so for now ta ta.
until next time take care and keep your needle moving

Some Sewing and Frustration

First Happy New year to you all. Boy those holidays went by fast to me!
I have come across a small quilt parts box. I love the colors and the fabrics. So thought I need to jump on this and sew it together, yep I do need to. Well started to sew the triangles together and looking great then I needed to add the plain triangle in between the others with the pretty prints. the solid ones were too big. what did I do  wrong?  I called the gal who taught the class and ask what I might be doing to cause this. Not much luck, but she did say she will try to bring the book  down on Friday and I can meet with her to pick that up. Maybe I am missing some tip or something. Okay in meantime I am trying other things to figure it out I am impatient you know. I managed to sew three half sections together and they look real nice. so that is as far as I got. I need to UN-sew the first  three blocks and see what needs to be adjusted on them. I hate to think of throwing them out, not me. I am also persistent when I know something will work and I just need to find out what that something is to make it all so easy!@ may take me a few more times but I will get it figured out. Here is the blocks I am sewing together. They are so pretty. I know I will love it when it is all sewn and usable.
The fabrics I am using are 30's reproductions they make me happy and feel good. The second picture is the parts just laying next to each other. Anyway I will now get the last strip of them I sewed and post it for you to see, the bottom 3 are the latest ones I have sewn. stay tuned will post a gain soon.

Thanks Patty
